Maverick Ranch president appointed to 3 industry boards

Rex Moore is the only person from a meat company to hold this honor

Denver – Maverick Ranch Natural Meats President, Rex Moore, has been named to three different boards of directors in meat industry trade associations. This is the first time that a person from a natural meat company has held positions on so many meat -industry specific trade association boards at the same time. These appointments reinforce the continual trend of growth in the natural meat category, and illustrates that consumer demand drives the need for representation in these organizations.

Moore currently sits on the following boards; North American Meat Processors (NAMP), National Meat Association (NMA), and NCBA (National Cattleman’s Beef Association). In 2004 he was re-elected to his second term at NMA. His position with NAMP is dual, as he is on the food service committee representing NAMP for NCBA. In addition, Maverick Ranch is a member of the American Meat Institute (AMI).

“In serving on three prestigious boards at once, my goal is to better educate both the livestock industry and the beef industry about each other,” Moore said. “If they both fully understand the needs and interests of the other, they can both work together more fluidly in the future to achieve industry-wide goals.”

Moore would like to see cattlemen from each state at meat conferences and vice versa for small, family-owned meat processors at the NCBA meeting. “Let’s have each organization exchange conference registration with each other,” Moore said.
