PESTICIDES
Environmental
contaminants, especially pesticides in food and water,
are now having a serious effect on our health and reproduction.
The world economy is built on population growth. What if the
population starts declining? How will this effect our world?
Over 600 man-made chemicals are registered with the EPA as killing
agents under the broad term pesticide.
These chemicals have over 40,000 combinations along
with 80,000 industrial chemicals. Tolerance level is defined
as the level at which the chance of cancer is increased at a
factor of one out of a million during a lifetime of projected exposure.
(So far, the EPA has only provided tolerance levels on 9700
pesticides.) This is a carcinogen rating. What about
the effect caused by interruption of our hormone, immune, and
nervous systems as well as brain function?
Some
experts now feel that the pesticide residues may be a contributing factor
and often the leading factor for major diseases that occur because
our endocrine (including immune and nervous) systems are not
functioning with hormonic balance.
